# Epochalypse Project

> Public awareness and coordination on the 2036–2038 epoch-rollover risk — the failures that follow when 32-bit and other fixed-width time representations overflow, why they reach across civil infrastructure, and what can be done while there is still time. An independent, plain-language companion to the more specialised standards work (IEEE and ITU-T SG17).

Load-bearing claims are stated with an explicit confidence level, so a reader can tell evidence from inference: **Observed** (directly measured or documented), **Reported** (a credible field report, not independently verified here), **Suspected** (expected on reasoning or precedent, not yet demonstrated), and **Unexamined** (no one has looked closely yet). Every heading, glossary term, and reference carries a stable anchor, so a specific definition or claim can be linked to directly — for example `en/faq/#term-temporal-root-of-trust` or `en/further-reading/#ref-cisa-icsa-25-296-03`.
